Clarity and being clear means that one’s own six senses follow the correct direction and stay on the correct path, which is the path of truth. Then, our six senses function correctly, which means that one sees colors correctly, hears sounds correctly, smells correctly, tastes correctly, touches correctly, and one has a correct mind.
Negativity means that one’s own six senses do not yet stay on the correct path, which is the path of truth. It is not an overstatement to say that with negativity, one’s own six senses stay in a crooked direction. If one does not use one’s six senses correctly, then one’s discrimination consciousness, which is the seventh consciousness, puts the mind and all of one’s thinking in a negative direction. The results of this negativity pile up in the store mind consciousness, which is the eighth consciousness, and thus, much negative karma is accumulated there.
Being positive means to always use one’s own six senses in a positive direction. Then, the seventh consciousness, which is the discrimination mind consciousness, will make one use one’s mind in a positive way, and one will think and act in a positive way. Consequently, in the eighth consciousness much good karma will be built up, and this good karma will turn into one’s own virtue. Ignorance, which is darkness, will disappear. Brightness and clarity will automatically shine. This is just as when dark clouds disappear and the sun appears.
If we all can attain, follow, and believe this teaching, we can accomplish world peace.
Of course, you can take a thirsty horse to a well and show it the water, but if the horse says “no”, what can you do? Please decide which way you want to go.
